How Bodybuilding Will Help You Get Over Your ‘X’ Partner

If you are past your teen years, it is very likely that you have suffered a heart break or two. If so, then you will know how sh*t you will feel afterwards, especially if you were the one that got dumped. That will often lead you to feel empty inside, lead you to over eat, not take care of your self and curl up into a corner and cry.

However, things aren’t so bad in the world of fitness and bodybuilding. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned pro in the gym, here are some ways that body building will help you get over that b***t of a girlfriend/ boyfriend.

Confidence
Countries like the USA are built on confidence and confidence is a trait of most successful people. If you are succeeding in the gym, then confidence will likely be one of your traits too.

Yes, you will naturally feel down about the relationship break up, but being a confident bodybuilder will help you get over that pretty quickly because fitness and confidence together will naturally make you feel good about yourself. If you are feeling good about yourself most of the time, then you won’t be spending much time worrying about why ‘Mr/Miss damaged goods’ broke up with you. But what you will start to think is,

‘Is that person stupid…? Breaking up with ME!!’

And soon enough they may just start calling you back. Too late for that, you’ve moved on.

Be Social

As I mentioned back in ‘Finding love at the gym‘, the gym is one of the top places where you’ll find love. If not that, then you definitely find yourself many date potentials. The more you see and interact with those individuals, the sooner you’ll forget about that a*hole of a boyfriend/ girlfriend and wonder why you was with them in the first place.

This is cliché, but when one door closes, it leaves room for another to open, so speed up that process and be social.

Get Your Mind Active

As a stayfitbug.com reader, you’ll know by now how much I push to be dedicated and disciplined to get your body to be where you need it to be. One key part of being disciplined in bodybuilding is to learn how to control your diet. So that means cutting back on certain foods and not submitting to temptation, which will require you to keep your mind active on something other than the prior.

This mind set of cutting something out of your life is what you will need to do with your ‘Now X Partner’. Yes… you will already be on the right track from being confident and social, but to add to that, get rid of reminders of them.

Get rid of their:-

  • Clothes
  • Phone Numbers
  • Smell in your house

Everything! You’ve now moved on

Goals

I have talked about the personal trait of being goal driven before, and I always will, as you often need to be reminded of what your goals are. As a bodybuilder, a goal driven mind set is what you’ll need to have to succeed, and when you do begin to focus on this mind set, you will not want to waste time on things you cannot change. Shit will happen, and when it does, you learn to let go of the past and move on.

This is the mindset that will help you forget about your X partner all so easily.

If you haven’t had your heart broken yet, I can guarantee that it will happen sometime in your future. But instead of becoming a victim of the inevitable (Curling up into a corner and crying) you will spend more time in the gym following the guidance listed above.

When you do move on and become a better new and improved person, just know that you will be getting phone calls from the ‘X’. What happens at that moment is up to you.

What did you do when you broke up with your X partner?

Did you curl up into a ball and cry?

Did you spend more time at the gym?

Did it affect your workouts?

How to Develop Great Bodybuilder Skin

December 8, 2009 by

After the age of 16, it is inevitable that the skin on your body would have been through many wars.

  • Acne
  • Scars and bruises from playing around in the playground
  • Scratches on your body from girlfriends
  • Skin infections

And as you age, it will only get worse.

If you are bodybuilding then you probably feel quite strong about have good self-appearance…, which is great. And if you are into building a great body, then you might as well go for near perfection. A part of reaching for that perfection is by having great skin, after all, that is the first thing people will notice on you before anything else when showing off your muscles.

Muscles and crappy, dry looking skin… I’m quite sure that’s a no go for the ladies.

So here we’ll go over some great ways for you to develop great looking shiny and healthy skin.

Eat well

This is a no brainer. You are what you eat. Eat crap and you will look like crap. Eat well… you will look ‘well’. I’m not going to name any specific foods here, but make sure you keep a diverse diet of all the foods that I have covered over at killer foods for fitness.

Break a sweat

You can do this by working out like a barbarian. If you sweat a lot then you are doing well. When you sweat your pores stay open. This may leave your skin open for invasion by infection nasties, but you can fight them off with simple good hygiene.

  • Use a clean towel every time you are in the gym
  • Wash your face 3-4 times a day
  • Use a good facial cleanser

Drink cod liver oil

I don’t bother reading the facts. I just do what grandma tells me to do, and that is to drink cod liver oil. Cod liver oil has many benefits and one the benefits it will give you is good skin. So keep drinking or swallowing those daily capsules.

Your face

You will sweat a lot more when you workout and I would usually tell you to sweat it out and drip dry as wiping away the sweat just makes the situation worse (And your hands will be full of germs too). However, this may not favour well with your gym counterparts. Leaving your sweat all over every bench is just straight nasty and if those who attend your gym are anything like me, they will tell you to clean your shit up!

The sweating is great as it opens up your pores, but that also leaves your face open for infectious nasties to get in there and wreck your beautiful skin. Most of you reading this probably shave too, so that leaves even room for potential infectious nasties.

My solution

There are some great facial and body products out there that you can wash use to keep your skin clean and fresh through out the day. But my star product and brand for the last 12 months goes to,

KING OF SHAVES

I’ve been through the wars with my face. See my history

  • Major spots between ages 12-14 (Used various face washes with no real results)
  • Acne at 14 years old (double dosage of antibiotics to slow it down – 4 pills a day)
  • Fungal infection on skin at age 15 (affects whole body (luckily it was a mild case)
  • The spots never really did go away, even after the teenage years… until now.

As of November last year I started to use various king of shaves products for my face and body and I can tell you ‘hand on heart’ that KING OF SHAVES is the good shit!

I’m quite active inside and outside of the gym and I consider myself to be quite high maintenance ‘for a guy’ as I think it is important to look good.

– Feel better

– Positive body language

– Confidence

And I sweat a lot, as I workout like a barbarian. But for quite some time, I just couldn’t get rid of these tiny spots on my forehead and face. Yea my skin looked relatively good, but relatively good is not good enough. I want that picture perfect skin.

The moment I started using KING OF SHAVES, my skin became very CLEAR! It’s not often that I rant and rave about a good product, but this done wonders for me, and if you are sweating away and getting skin problems because of it, get yourself some KING OF shaves products.

You will look better, feel better and it will match the model bodybuilder look that I know you are after.

Whether it is the skin on your face or body, follow what I have told you here and get that flawless looking skin, you might even find yourself being scouted by agents once you do so

Do you have great looking skin?
Do you use any products that help you achieve that?

Do let me know.

See you in the comments.

The Winter Recession Home Workout

home workout training

It’s Friday people, and your weekend should start today. But before you go away and have fun i’m going show you how to create an effective home workout for the coming winter months. You may also be recovering from the (hopefully) soon to be over recession, if so, then this is for the last days of it.

Cardio in the home

Now… just because you are at home, it doesn’t mean you are allowed to skip cardio training for the whole of winter. You WILL keep up that cardio training and here is what you can do.

  • Running up and down a set of stairs (moderate intensity)
  • Using a skipping rope (moderate intensity)
  • Step-ups on a step or box (moderate intensity – the higher the box, the more intense the workout… and make sure the box is sturdy! I don’t want you getting injured now)

If you want to be sure that you are performing these at a moderate intensity, then train like a barbarian and go hard for 30-60 seconds on each one, taking a one minute break before starting the next set.

Strength Training

I always do go on about strength training and how you should always aim to build functional strength. If you have been following that advice, then you will need to maintain the strength that you have built up.

Free weights

If you are not entirely broke then it would be a good idea to purchase a set of iron weights.  These are ideal because you will want to mimic your gym workouts as much as you can.

  • Barbell
  • Dumbells
  • With at least 80kg to use

Bodyweight exercises

I’ve talked about these before and i will be doing so some more soon in the up and coming ebook, but for now here are a few others you can do.

Bodyweight squats with a wall squat

What to do?

Perform a set of 25-30 body-weight squats (squats without weights)

Then move over to the wall and perform a stationary wall squat and hold it for one minute.

Push-ups on an exercise ball

Since this is a home workout routine, we will have to up the ante. Performing push ups on an exercise ball will make it harder, thus working your muscles harder. This will be great for your upper body muscles.

Tricep Dips

Now we have to go truly frugal and start using furniture as gym equipment. Find a chair and place your hands behind you on the end of both sides of the chair, then start performing dips. Now we must up the ante again.

Increase the difficulty

1) Place your feet on a stool. This will work your muscles even more.

2) If you find that too easy then place a weight plate on your lap while you dip.

Jump Lunges

These will work your,

  • Glutes (butt muscles)
  • Hamstrings
  • Quadraceps

10 – 15 reps should be enough for you to feel the burn.

Pull-ups

Do yourslef a favour and get your self the Iron gym extreme pull up bar. This will allow you to perform,

  • Pull-ups
  • Chin ups
  • Press ups
  • Sit-ups

All with one bar!

Single-leg deadlifts

Now for the finale exercise.

  • Stand in front of a bed and place one leg back and up on top of it.
  • Place a chair two feet infront of you
  • Bend down and hold the bottom of the chair
  • Rise up while holding the chair and keep both legs as straight as possible.
  • If you want to work your glutes then squeeze while you perform
  • Stand up to the starting position and then lower the chair to the ground once again to complete the rep.

This is a simple workout you can all do over the next few months and it is quite effective too. Now go and enjoy the start of your weekend.

See you in the comments.

Benefits of boxing training for fitness

Boxing training for fitness
When people think of fitness, they tend to think of free weights, machines and running (I use to think this to). But building for fitness really is more diverse than that, and there are many other sporting activities you can take up to build a diverse range of fitness abilities, Boxing being one of them.

Boxing is generally seen as a male activity, but I can assure you, it certainly isn’t, and it has definitely given my body a boost and allowed me to be more diverse in my attitude towards fitness.

In the sporting world, Boxing is known as “the noble art of self-defense”. It is a classic fistfight with gloves. But to box doesn’t necessarily mean to enter the ring and knock each other down. There are different ways to work on this art of self-defense, and if you are open to try out boxing, you will find that you will gain a lot more than just a toned body.

Boxing is an intricate way of working out, that incorporates all of the important aspects of fitness, including strength, endurance, speed, and coordination. During training, every movement will be worked on properly and systematically and you will build stronger and more defined arms, legs and abs.

Classical workout methods in boxing include running, jogging, intervals, jump ropes, and sparring, in addition to sit-ups, push ups, and star jumps. If you prefer to keep to yourself, boxing is very versatile and you can use heavy bags, focus mitts or shadow boxing to practice your fighting skills.

Calories burned per 30 minutes of boxing:

50 kg 240 kcal
65 kg 270 kcal
75 kg 300 kcal
85 kg 330 kcal
100 kg 390 kcal

In addition to working on your physical strength, boxing will improve your mental strength, leaving you with a sense of emotional balance. It is a great platform to develop your self-motivation, as it leaves you wanting to push yourself to the limit each and every time. With help from your opponents, you will practice determination, patience, and focus.

Boxing classes will let you push yourself to the limit, in a motivating and safe environment. Different levels in classes will let you work out on the level that you are comfortable with. You will learn self-defense skills that can turn out to be very valuable in many ‘unwanted’ real life situations. But most importantly, you will get an energy boost that will enable you to keep on top of your game in your day-to-day life.

So what are you waiting for? Go and get the body and self-confidence you have always wanted!

See you in the comments.
